Headshots. The headshot is the most important part of performer s basic audition package and I have been shooting them for over 30 years. It is important for the client to think about how the photo will be used: are you primarily interested in theatrical auditions, where you will be handing the headshot to the director or casting-director in person and presenting your monologue or song? Or will you be mailing the headshot, or sending it by e-mail to a casting service or large-scale audition? Would you like to do commercials and movies as well as theatre? Do you do stand-up comedy? Are you primarily a singer? If so, do you specialize in cabaret, musical theatre, opera, recitals, etc.? Each headshot will reflect the individual personality of the performer. Making a great headshot is a process, not a single moment I often shoot 50-75 images to get exactly what I want and what will be most useful for the client. In my Deluxe Headshot package, we will often work for over an hour and shoot up to 200 individual images. I am a studio photographer my specialty for many years has been studio lighting. I consider all those outdoor headshots you see these days to be the work of amateurs. Take a look at the San Francisco Opera or ACT programs this is what a REAL headshot is all about. And this is what you can expect from my experienced hands.
